Support the development of the ENV referential through providing experience-based advice to simplify and improve the documentation.
Supports and participates in the provision of technical environmental management / environmental engineering expertise, advice and technical challenge to Senior Management.
Promotes the Project ENV policies and plans (including the Safety Culture program) at the Package level and on the worksites through:
Deployment of ENV tools on Company assets
Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permit requirements, safeguarding our organization from legal and environmental risks.
Has technical ownership (i.e. signatory) on certain key documents as identified in CMS including validation of contractor's
key deliverables and prescribed audits as necessary, ensuring consistent output from project, while providing support and guidance.
Compliance
Ensure the production of concise and high-quality documents and make suggestions for appropriate governance requirements
Maintain interface with representatives from project ENV / project Construction / Affiliate to obtain an in-depth understanding of the ENV requirements.
Implement the EMS of the project with the aim of the ISO 14001 Certification
Participate to enriching and updating project procedures and templates for ENV domain,
Participate in the definition of the relevant information describing the elements of the Environmental Management System
(EMS) and their interaction. Incorporate this documentation into the HSE Management System of the project.
Scoping, communication and explanation, and review of deliverables from specialist consultants / contractors on behalf of
GMP for ensuring outputs meet Company quality and technical acceptability.
Risk Management
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks associated with our operations and projects, building a culture of preventative action.
Ensures that risk ENV assessments (including those prepared by Contractors) are reviewed, actions are followed up and closed, mitigations measures are implemented.
Coordinate the Environmental studies Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS)", " Environmental and Societal Impact
Assessment (ESIA), etc and to check(control) the consideration of the recommendations which ensue from it
Prepare the Environmental Procedures in line with "Company Rules" and Rules (Rulers) TEEPRH to make approve by HSE manager in contact with representative HSE of every site of the project (specific Procedures, Management of Chemicals, Oil
Spill Contingency Plan, Waste Management Plan etc.)
Health and Environment
Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan, including waste management.
Monitor and improve environmental performance, minimizing our ecological footprint and protecting the health and well-being of our employees and surrounding communities.
Contractor and Suppliers
Contributes on contractor / consultant selection in contracts with environmental management element.
Coordinate ENV support for local contractors (coaching).
Control the application of the ENV policy and the associated framework in accordance with contractual requirements.
Ensure that contractor reporting is in line with contractual requirements.

Competency and Training
Ensure the level of training of contractor staff.
Ensures adequate training plan is implemented by Contractors, in line with Company ENV training requirements.
Contribute and/or provide specific ENV training (induction, training, mentoring for staff/CTR ENV)
Participate in the elaboration of Training modules and organize the sessions of raising awareness(sensitization) about the protection of the Environment
Emergency Preparedness
Participate in emergency preparedness through training and exercise plans.
Lead the development and implementation of robust emergency response plans for environmental incidents, ensuring swift and effective action when needed.
Contribute to the definition of the specific equipment for the environmental protection and assure their availability
Incident Analysis
Guarantee systematic reporting of incidents, accidents, anomalies.
Monitor that the reporting and analysis of incidents is performed as required.
Contributes to the affiliate reporting system, and/or sets up and operates a Project system for reporting and analyzing anomalies, incidents, and accidents.
Set up and update the application dedicated to the management of ENV events (SYNERGI or ENABLON base) in relationship with ENV Engineer of affiliate.
Collect and consolidate ENV information from project sites. (Site, Worksite, Workshop and third party)
Ensure the reliability of ENV statistics and information before dissemination.
Participates in environmental related incident investigation and RCAs providing expert knowledge and direction.
Initiate, facilitate and participate in investigations and analyzes of accidents and high-potential incidents and anomalies.
Audits and Inspections
Participate in the ENV audits, Project Reviews (PR) and Project Entities Reviews (PER) for ENV domain, if requested
Participate in the ENV audits on all the sites of the project and implement the associated actions plan
Implement the audit and inspection ENV plan
Performance Improvement
Communicate ENV useful information to project network (project HSE newsletters, specific ENV workshops, World Day for Safety),
Participate in improving ENV performance and associated monitoring (performance indicators: leading and lagging)
Participate in the definition, monitor and update ENV performance indicators (KPI) (leading and lagging) such as the atmospheric emissions, the liquid discharges, the cuttings discharge etc..), the generation of the household and industrial waste, the management of the use of chemicals, the use of raw materials and natural resources, the energy consumption etc.
Analyze project performance and ENV events and consequently issue ENV recommendations,
Coordinate the environmental reporting of the project including the follow-up of the environmental incidents in contact with the representatives ENV on every site of the project.
Prepare the weekly environmental reporting / monthly and the statistics data to make validate with the HSE coordinator of the project.
Update the register of the Iraqi and International laws on the environmental protection and ensure the control of their respect.
Qualifications/Experience required:
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, i.e. engineering or scientific subject preferably environmental engineering, or environmental related.
Demonstrable environmental / engineering experience and knowledge covering design, plant operation, project engineering, construction, commissioning, and operation both onshore.
Supervisory role (min 5 years). Professional ENV qualification at Diploma / Degree level minimum (e.g. MSc occupational
Health and Safety or NEBOSH diploma/Certificate).
Understanding of development & construction activities.
Good understanding of ENV policies and strategies, ENV Management Systems and Risks & Middle East country Legal
Framework
Membership of an appropriate professional body.
Experience in incident investigation.
Familiarity with safety and environmental legislation.
Knowledge of Total group standards and/or previous experience with other major IOC's in large oil and gas construction projects.
Good presentation skills
Experience in the implementation of behavioral safety systems and analyzing the data produced.
Understanding of oil and gas production equipment, processes, and utility systems
Experience reviewing and commenting on Contractor design / construction phase ENV plans and related documents.
Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments techniques.
Good knowledge of ENV legislation and international standards, including IOGP standards, onshore plant standards, ISO and Company referential framework (Rules, Specifications, Guides).
Ability to proactively drive positive change.
Be a Role model to establish effective team working.
Autonomy and previous experience in working transversally.
Ability to work on his/her own initiative but function as an integral part of team
