The HSE Manager will lead the health, safety, and environmental strategies for construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a safety-first culture. The role includes developing policies, conducting risk assessments, and managing safety teams to mitigate risks and ensure a safe work environment across all construction sites. Key Responsibilities HSE Policy and Program Management
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to construction operations. Ensure compliance with local laws, international standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001). Site Inspections and Audits
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with HSE requirements. Risk Assessment and Control
Perform risk assessments for construction activities, equipment, and materials. Develop risk mitigation plans and enforce safety measures to minimize incidents. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and other incidents to determine root causes. Prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive action plans. Training and Development
Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors. Conduct toolbox talks and refresher training sessions to promote awareness. Develop and test emergency response plans for fire, medical, and other potential scenarios. Organize drills and evaluate team readiness. Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with construction-related HSE regulations and maintain accurate documentation. Liaise with regulatory authorities and prepare reports for management and stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and site teams to ensure alignment on safety objectives. Provide regular updates to senior management on HSE performance and improvements. Qualifications and Experience Education
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field. Certifications
NEBOSH International General Certificate, OSHA certification, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent. Experience
Minimum of 15 years in HSE roles, with at least 7 years in the construction industry. Proven track record of managing safety programs for large-scale construction projects. #J-18808-Ljbffr
