Engineering Manager (with BIM Coordination & Shop Drawings)

Responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of design development and ensuring seamless coordination between design teams, technical experts, and BIM workflows. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-quality designs while optimizing the use of BIM technology throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design Management

1. Lead the design process across all project phases, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives.

2. Coordinate between architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is fully realized.

3. Manage the preparation, review, and approval of design deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.

4. Conduct design reviews, addressing potential risks, technical issues, and value engineering opportunities.

5. Ensure design deliverables are completed within the established timeline and budget.

Technical Oversight

6. Manage the development, review, and approval of technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and constructability.

7. Provide technical expertise and leadership to resolve complex design and construction challenges.

8. Oversee compliance with project specifications, industry best practices, and quality standards.

9. Review and approve material and product specifications to align with the design intent.

10. Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate sustainable and innovative solutions into project designs.

Shop Drawings

11. Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of shop drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.

12. Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure shop drawings reflect accurate dimensions, materials, and methods for construction.

13. Identify and resolve discrepancies between design drawings, shop drawings, and site conditions.

14. Ensure shop drawings are updated to incorporate any changes arising during coordination or construction phases.

BIM Coordination

15. Develop and manage the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration among all stakeholders.

16. Oversee the creation, maintenance, and updates of BIM models across all disciplines.

17. Ensure adherence to BIM standards and protocols, including naming conventions, workflows, and file-sharing protocols.

18. Lead clash detection and resolution processes, using tools like Navisworks or similar software.

19. Provide training, support, and oversight to design teams in BIM-related tasks.

20. Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants to ensure model accuracy and usability for construction purposes.

Project Leadership

21. Act as the main point of contact for all design and technical matters, providing updates to clients and senior management.

22. Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

23. Facilitate design workshops and meetings to align stakeholders on project goals and deliverables.

24. Identify and mitigate risks related to design and technical aspects of the project.

Documentation and Reporting

25. Ensure all design documentation is properly maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.

26. Prepare detailed reports on design progress, technical challenges, and BIM coordination status.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED25,000.00 - AED35,000.00 per month
