Reportee (Job - Role): Design Engineers
Education: Graduate in Civil Engineering or Post Graduate in Structural Engineering.
Experience: 6 to 10years Engineering & Design experience in Wind farm structures & general civil design is essential. It is expected that candidate has designed onshore WTG gravity foundations with OEM loads including fatigue loads. Earlier experience in Design of Heavy Foundations with dynamic loads using FEM Software (ANSYS, ABAQUS, etc.), Buildings (RCC / Steel), Grading, Roads, and Storm Water Drains.
Objective: Perform Civil & Structural Design & Engineering works for Wind Farm including WTG Foundations, Hard Stands, Grading, Roads, Drains, Culverts, associated Electrical works of MV Cabling, Substations including Transformer foundations, Electrical and other Auxiliary Buildings.
The Lead shall handle the design & engineering activities for the assigned project(s) with effective co-ordination with other disciplines viz., Electrical, MEP, Supply Chain, Project Execution for obtaining necessary inputs, interface checks and timely delivery.
The Lead shall effectively co-ordinate with the external Design Consultants for assignments outsourced and ensure proper compliance to scope and Technical requirements within the budgeted quantities and deliverables within agreed timelines.
The Lead shall ensure to manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of Engineering Plan aligned with the project, implementing the plan, monitoring and control.
• Preparation of master list of deliverables covering the intended scope of works.
• Facilitate the Engineering solutions or inputs for overall cost optimization.
• Co-ordinate with External Design Consultants for timely deliverables with optimum quantities.
• Co-ordinate with Client / Consultant & obtain approval of Engineering deliverables.
• Ensure completion of assigned works and meeting committed schedules & timelines.
• Capable of reading the Contract specification in a wholesome manner and supporting the Business Unit / Project team for enabling optimization, variations and contractual claims.
• Preparing optimum designs including those from external consultants where applicable.
• Ensuring quantity control & optimization of Civil & Structural quantities
• Co-ordinate with the Engineering team at project location and ensure a smooth work execution between the teams at multiple locations
• Proactive interaction with project execution team for resolving site issues if any related to Engineering.
Sensitivity: Construction Internal Use
• Coordination with Site Team and Client to meet the requirements of design and drawings
• Preparation of BOQ and verify with respect to data base of previous similar projects
• Ensure design drawings are done based on relevant standards and codes on general engineering practices without compromising on quality. Review of critical issues as required by Project team.
• Participate in the periodical review as required with project heads / stakeholders for Engineering Progress and resolution of engineering issues.
Technical Expertise:
• The Lead shall be capable of performing the design and engineering activities for Civil & Structural Works for Wind Farm.
• Should be aware of design methodologies as per Domestic & International codes.
• Assessing Site conditions, Topographic Conditions, environmental conditions and ensuring Engineering deliverables suiting the site conditions and meeting the intended scope.
• Good experience in performing dynamic analysis of WTG Foundations, Heavy Machine Foundations with use of FEM software like ANSYS, SAP, etc.
• Design and detailing of RCC Buildings, grading, roads, storm water drainage system, works related to the substations and cabling works.
• Review of Engineering deliverables from external Design Consultant in a structured and timely manner.
• Use of International codes & standards (American, Euro, etc.)
Operating Network:
• Internally: Lead Engineers, PEMs, Head of Civil Engg., Segment / Cluster heads, Project heads, Subordinates, SCM, Quality, Safety, Contracts Team.
• Externally: Clients at review level & Consultant (Team Leads)
Key Performance Indicators:
• Productivity (Man hours allotted for activities), On Time Delivery of project, Project Completion, Strike Rate for tenders, Customer Satisfaction (CS report, Drawing approval (No of revisions)), Development of Subordinates, Innovation
Software Skills Required:
• Proficient in Analysis & design Software: ANSYS, SAP, STAAD, ETABS.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD, INFRA works, REVIT
• Proficient in MS Office tools.
