Marsh offers a six-month training and development programme for newly recruited Risk Engineers.Although an Offshore background is required for this role, we expect candidates to become involved with Onshore Upstream clients. We will rely on you to:Main Responsibilities:

• Standard risk engineering surveys: This is the base offering of Marsh Risk Engineering and it is crucial to the successful placement of insurance within the Energy industry. A survey consists of a typically 2-3 day visit to a client facility, interviews with key management teams and site tours. The output is an engineering report which details;

• Description of the site operations,
• An analysis of Loss Prevention/Mitigation features
• A ranking of the quality of the site and recommendations for improvement
• Estimation of property damage, often using our bespoke modelling software
• The role will also involve carrying out risk assessments of construction sites and reviews of new projects for Marsh\'s clients.
• The position will also support the Broking team in placing risks in international insurance markets.
• Manage and develop re: Engineering Management System.

Special Skills:

• Sound working knowledge of oil, gas and petrochemical industry technologies.
• Risk exposure assessed-driven decision-making is essential - and relevant to the field of expertise.
• IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or similar). Experience with technical simulation packages for process modelling, risk assessment, and project execution purposes as relevant to the field of expertise.
• Enhanced written and verbal communication skills.

• Articulate internal and external business goals and overall strategies needed to attain these goals.
• Complies with and checks performance against professional standards and best practices.

Client development:

• Develop new and expanded business opportunities.
• Utilize and develop spheres of influence to develop new and expanded business

What you need to have:Work Experience:

• 5-15 years experience in the operation of oil, gas and petrochemical facilities.

Academic Background:

• Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree preferably

Physical Requirements:

• Combination of Middle East (majority) and worldwide travel required (typically 70-90 days per year).
