The Energy Policy & Strategy Section Head is responsible for ensuring insight, technical and methodological expertise in shaping and directing the energy-related policies and strategies within the energy sector.
In addition, the Energy Policy & Strategy Section Head is responsible for ensuring that the policies developed are in line with the client\xe2\x80\x99s plans for taking forward the development of the energy sector effectively and efficiently.
This includes a commitment to effectively disseminate information on energy-related matters to foster informed discussions, engagement, and decision-making.
Manage the review and approval of the technical rules and standards for the energy sector and their amendments issued by the energy sector companies in accordance with the Law.
Ensure the development and administration of sector policies related to the energy sector disciplines and assure that the procedures are appropriately documented and communicated based on established laws, client strategy, and best practices.
Support and provide guidance in technical areas as and when required.
Enable a better understanding and direction of the steps involved in evidence-informed policymaking for related activities within the energy sector.
Ensure the development of policies, strategies, and plans for the energy sector\'s code development activities.
Manage all regular meetings and lead the work of the client\xe2\x80\x99s decision-making group.
Ensure high-quality standard research evidence consideration in the decision-making process within the client.
Ensure and maintain policy development procedures within the Energy Policy & Code section process.
Collaborate closely with the Legal and Legislative Department to ensure that the Sector\'s policies and plans comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Concentrate on defining the policy area to be addressed within the energy sector, raising awareness, and prioritizing specific issues.
Inform all possible policy options and assist in selecting the best option by assessing discussed policies\' impact.
Manage and oversee the consultation process with stakeholders whom the new policy may impact under consideration and refine the policy as needed.
Oversee and ensure the design and implementation of impact evaluations for new policies, including addressing weaknesses as needed.
Monitor and assess the policy\'s process and impact on developing a monitoring mechanism that provides a basis for future decision-making.
Verify success criteria, building an evaluation element into the policymaking process from the outset.
Disseminate information on lessons learned and good practices with the relevant stakeholders.
Comprehensive knowledge of electricity related activities, including electricity production, transmission, and distribution, as well as an awareness of renewables and energy storage within this Sector.
Comprehensive knowledge of laws and policies, regionally and globally, in regard to electricity-related activities
Good understanding of the Abu Dhabi energy sector, its strategic direction, and developments, as well as the Sector\'s objectives and key stakeholders\' requirements
Thorough understanding of the broader energy sector, including its strategic direction and developments, in the broader region and globally. Ability to identify gaps in existing policy framework and develop new policies
Ability to analyze evidence and build a case for the need for policy in a specific area of focus
