Job Description

An ELV Technician specializes in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, which include systems that operate on low voltages (generally under 50 volts). These systems are critical in modern buildings for safety, communication, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of ELV Systems
• Install, configure, and test ELV systems such as:
• CCTV systems
• Access control systems
• Fire alarm systems
• Public address systems
• Data and communication networks
• Home automation and building management systems (BMS)
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on ELV systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in ELV systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Cabling and Wiring
• Lay out, terminate, and test ELV cabling infrastructure, including fiber optics and copper wiring.
• Ensure wiring complies with safety and technical standards.
• System Integration
• Integrate ELV systems with other building automation systems where necessary.
• Ensure compatibility between hardware and software components.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repair work.
• Provide detailed reports on system performance and issues.
• Compliance and Standards
• Ensure that all work complies with local and international standards and codes.
• Follow safety guidelines to avoid hazards during installations and repairs.
