ABOUT THE ROLE
Black & White Engineering is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, we became an independent company in 2014 and are now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.
Due to our continued growth into the data centre sector, we are looking to recruit an ELV Engineer - Security / ICT, ideally with data centre experience.
This role will be responsible for managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assisting on the ongoing development and growth of the business, whilst providing sound technical, design, and contract management support.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role will work in collaboration with local and global teams to meet the objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementation of Security and ICT systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
• Manage projects autonomously, seeking guidance when necessary, and fostering a culture of innovation.
• Allocate tasks and coordinate activities to ensure efficient project execution.
• Prepare official documents, including letters and reports, for internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities may Include:
• Adhering to Black & White's Quality Management System.
• Provide technical guidance to design engineers, ensuring adherence to company standards and code compliance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• SIRA certification or familiarity with authority submission processes is advantageous.
EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
• Recognised as an industry expert.
• Proven experience in designing large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of respect and inclusion.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing and implementing security and/or ICT systems, including:
- Electronic Video Surveillance
- Electronic Access Control
- Intrusion Detection and Perimeter Security
- Structured Cabling networks and containment systems
- Active Networks design
+ Experience in data centre design is a plus.
+ Familiarity with other ELV systems (controls, AV, fire detection and alarms, etc.) is advantageous.
