1. Supervision of Electrical Installation and Maintenance:
• Supervise the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and components, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
• Ensure electrical systems are installed as per project drawings, specifications, and local electrical codes.
• Oversee the installation of equipment such as transformers, generators, panel boards, and circuit breakers.
2. Team Management:
• Lead and manage a team of electricians and technicians to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Allocate work to electrical workers, providing clear instructions and ensuring the team adheres to project timelines and safety standards.
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback, training, and guidance to improve skills and productivity.
3. Quality Control and Safety:
• Ensure all electrical work complies with the relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems during installation and throughout the project's lifecycle to ensure quality and safety.
• Enforce the use of appropriate safety equipment and PPE, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Address any electrical hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or non-compliance issues promptly to prevent accidents.
4. Project Coordination:
• Coordinate with other site supervisors, project managers, and engineers to ensure electrical work aligns with the overall project schedule and objectives.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of electrical tasks, ensuring that necessary materials and resources are available when required.
• Ensure that electrical systems are integrated efficiently with other MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
5. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Identify and resolve electrical issues, malfunctions, and defects during construction and after project completion.
• Perform diagnostic tests on electrical systems and equipment to troubleshoot problems.
• Provide solutions to electrical problems that may arise on-site, ensuring minimal downtime.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of electrical work, including inspections, tests, materials used, and progress reports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project managers, highlighting completed tasks and any potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with all documentation requirements, including work permits and quality control reports.
7. Testing and Commissioning:
• Supervise the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to ensure they operate according to specifications.
• Perform checks and tests, such as continuity testing, insulation resistance tests, and operational testing.
• Ensure that all electrical systems are functioning correctly before handing over to the client or facility management.
8. Inventory and Material Management:
• Oversee the procurement and management of electrical materials and tools required for the project.
• Ensure that the team has all the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies to carry out tasks efficiently.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are used efficiently to avoid wastage or shortages.
9. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
• Communicate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure the timely completion of electrical work.
• Address any client concerns or inquiries related to electrical systems.
10. Training and Development:
• Provide training and guidance to junior electricians and workers to ensure they are up to date with the latest industry practices and standards.
• Encourage continuous learning and development among the team.
11. Budget and Cost Control:
• Monitor and manage the electrical aspects of the project budget, ensuring that electrical work is completed within financial constraints.
• Identify cost-effective solutions for electrical installations without compromising quality and safety.
12. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
• Ensure all electrical installations meet local and international codes and standards.
• Ensure that necessary inspections and approvals from relevant authorities are obtained throughout the project lifecycle.
