Electrical Supervisor
Location: Dubai, UAE

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervision of Electrical Works:
• Supervise and coordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities on construction sites, including wiring, lighting, power systems, and equipment.
• Ensure all electrical installations are carried out as per project drawings, specifications, and local electrical codes (DEWA, DM, UAE standards).
• Lead the electrical team, ensuring work is completed on time, to budget, and with the highest quality standards.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure that all electrical work complies with local safety regulations, including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and international safety standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC).
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor work activities and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Implement safety measures and provide guidance on safe electrical practices to all team members, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordination and Planning:
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure electrical work aligns with the overall construction schedule.
• Review project plans and drawings, providing feedback on electrical layouts, wiring schemes, and potential improvements.
• Organize work schedules and allocate tasks to electrical team members based on their skills and the project requirements.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Supervise and guide electricians, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior electricians and new team members.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend training or development programs to improve team competency.
• Quality Control and Inspections:
• Monitor the progress of electrical installations to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems (e.g., power, lighting, low voltage systems) to verify they are installed and functioning properly.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, work completed, and any issues or non-conformities that require corrective action.
• Material and Equipment Management:
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of electrical materials and equipment.
• Ensure all electrical equipment and materials on-site are properly stored, maintained, and comply with safety regulations.
• Conduct periodic checks to ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order and appropriately calibrated.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain detailed daily logs of electrical works completed, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
• Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any delays, risks, or issues that could impact the electrical scope of work.
• Ensure all work is documented in accordance with company standards and local regulations for audits and inspections.
• Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:
• Identify and resolve any electrical issues that arise during installation, testing, or commissioning phases.
• Provide technical support to the team to troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Formal training or certification in electrical systems, safety, and installation methods (e.g., NEBOSH, IET, etc.).
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Supervisor or in a similar role on large construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., DEWA, DM, UAE standards, IEC, NFPA).
• Experience in managing electrical teams and coordinating with other construction disciplines.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of electrical installations, power systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
• Proficient in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and software applications for electrical design and scheduling.
• Certifications:
• Valid Electrical Supervisor Certification (e.g., from DEWA or equivalent).
• Electrical Installation and Maintenance certifications (preferred).
• Safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, NEBOSH, etc.) are an advantage.
