The Electrical Quantity Surveyor will prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical work on building and site projects. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments, managing project costs, and ensuring that all electrical work is accurately quantified and aligned with specifications.
The project location is based in Deigo Garcia Island
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed BOQs for electrical works, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, cabling, and other electrical installations.
Develop Bill of Materials for Power Plants, buildings, site works, Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage Controls and Fire Alarm Systems
Conduct constructability reviews and assess design documents for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with the engineering and procurement teams to ensure all electrical requirements are captured and accurately estimated.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
Provide cost estimates for electrical work, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
Monitor project progress and assist with cost control throughout the execution phase.
Support contract management and assist in the preparation of tender documents.
Review contractor and supplier quotations, ensuring they align with the BOQ/BOM.
Conduct site visits to assess and update quantities, ensuring consistency with the actual work done.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Proven experience developing BOQs & BOMs for electrical works in building or site construction projects.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and building services.
Familiarity with relevant international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, etc.).
Proficient in using quantity surveying and estimation software tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
