The Electrical Foreman will oversee and manage electrical installations, maintenance, and repair tasks within construction projects, focusing on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. The role requires hands-on experience, leadership skills, and an in-depth understanding of electrical systems in construction environments. The ideal candidate will ensure that all electrical activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local regulations and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervision and Coordination:
• Lead and supervise a team of electricians and electrical workers on construction sites.
• Coordinate with other MEP supervisors, project managers, and engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical work within the overall project.
• Plan and delegate daily tasks to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Installation and Maintenance:
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
• Ensure proper installation of MEP systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems to prevent and address issues.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the electrical team.
• Quality Control:
• Monitor and inspect the quality of electrical installations and maintenance activities.
• Conduct quality checks and tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of electrical systems.
• Address and rectify any defects or non-compliance issues promptly.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including material usage, labor hours, and project progress.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on electrical activities to project managers and stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation of all electrical modifications and installations for future reference.
• Resource Management:
• Manage inventory of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and proper storage.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the delivery of electrical components and tools.
• Optimize the use of materials and manpower to minimize waste and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as an Electrical Foreman, preferably within the UAE construction sector.
• Proven experience in MEP projects with a strong focus on electrical systems.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations in the UAE.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and technical drawings.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
