Job Overview
The Electrical Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the electrical works on-site for high-rise building projects. This role requires a skilled professional with experience in the installation, maintenance, and management of electrical systems for large-scale building construction projects. The Electrical Foreman will supervise electrical technicians, ensure the quality of work, and guarantee that electrical installations are completed in accordance with design specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervision & Leadership :
• Lead and supervise a team of electricians and workers during the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for high-rise building projects.
• Allocate tasks and monitor work progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and apprentices.
• Execution of Electrical Works :
• Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, elevators, fire alarms, and security systems.
• Ensure that all installations conform to national electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Coordinate the installation of electrical panels, wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components in high-rise buildings.
• Supervise the testing and commissioning of electrical systems to verify performance and safety.
• Quality Control & Compliance :
• Inspect electrical installations to ensure they meet design plans, specifications, and regulatory standards.
• Ensure that work is done according to project drawings, manufacturer guidelines, and safety requirements.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the construction process.
• Coordination with Other Trades :
• Work closely with other trades (e.g., mechanical, civil, and plumbing) to coordinate activities and prevent conflicts in the installation process.
• Assist in the coordination of site logistics, material deliveries, and access for electrical installations.
• Safety Management :
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and provide regular safety briefings to the electrical team.
• Monitor the site for any unsafe practices, ensuring that workers are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper procedures.
• Report any safety hazards or accidents immediately and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Project Documentation & Reporting :
• Maintain daily reports of work completed, materials used, and manpower deployed.
• Report progress, challenges, and any deviations from the schedule to the Electrical Engineer or Project Manager.
• Ensure that all documentation related to electrical works, including test certificates and installation records, is accurately maintained.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving :
• Address any electrical issues that arise during installation or testing phases and work with the team to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
• Provide solutions to on-site challenges related to electrical systems, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
• Material Management :
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely availability of required electrical materials and tools.
• Maintain an inventory of electrical materials and ensure that there is no wastage of materials on site.
Skills and Qualifications
• Education & Certification :
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Electrical license or certification (where applicable) is preferred.
• Additional certifications in health and safety (e.g., OSHA) are a plus.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in electrical installation, with at least 2-3 years of experience as a foreman or supervisor on high-rise building or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong experience in executing electrical works, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and emergency power systems.
• Technical Skills :
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with the installation and commissioning of various electrical systems, including LV and HV electrical systems.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
