3. Project Management:
• Assist in the planning and coordination of EV charging infrastructure projects, ensuring that all milestones are met within budget and on schedule.
• Work with project managers to assess site requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and recommend appropriate electrical configurations.
• Liaise with utility companies and local authorities to ensure compliance with grid connection requirements and permitting processes.
4. Installation and Commissioning:
• Oversee the installation of electrical systems for EV charging stations, ensuring adherence to engineering designs and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to field technicians and contractors.
• Perform testing and commissioning of installed systems to verify functionality and safety, ensuring compliance with local and international electrical codes.
5. System Analysis and Optimization:
• Analyze the performance of electrical systems to identify areas for improvement, including efficiency, reliability, and power quality.
• Implement optimization strategies to enhance system performance, minimize power losses, and reduce operating costs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical systems, identifying and resolving technical issues as they arise.
6. Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure that all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, such as IEC, NEC, and local codes.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for high-risk activities, particularly for medium to high voltage systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical safety documentation, including method statements and safety protocols.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including technical reports, equipment specifications, and project updates.
• Maintain as-built drawings and update electrical schematics to reflect any changes made during installation or commissioning.
• Provide clients and internal stakeholders with regular updates on project status and technical challenges.
8. Collaboration and Support:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and field technicians as needed.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to address technical queries and provide solutions aligned with project objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, installation, and commissioning, preferably within the EV charging or power distribution sectors.
• Experience in EV charging systems is highly preferred; however, relevant experience in solar systems, energy storage, or energy generation technologies will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, power distribution units, and grounding systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or other electrical design software.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC).
• Experience with grid connections, load flow studies, and power quality analysis.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with local authority requirements and approvals (ADDC, AADC, DEWA, FEWA, SEWA) is essential.
• Certified by ADQCC (Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council) is highly preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in EV charging infrastructure projects.
• Certification in electrical safety standards or project management (e.g., PMP, OSHA).
