1. Design and Documentation:
• Develop electrical designs, layouts, and schematics based on project requirements and specifications.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, load schedules, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, or local codes).
2. Installation and Supervision:
• Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, switchgear, and power distribution networks.
• Coordinate with contractors and other disciplines to ensure proper execution of electrical installations.
• Inspect and approve electrical works at various stages to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
3. Testing and Commissioning:
• Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during installation and commissioning phases.
• Prepare testing and commissioning reports.
4. Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall project.
• Attend project meetings to provide technical input and updates on electrical engineering progress.
• Coordinate with utility providers for connections, approvals, and compliance requirements.
5. Maintenance and Support:
• Develop maintenance schedules and provide guidance for the upkeep of electrical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and performance assessments of installed systems.
• Address and resolve operational issues or system failures.
6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
• Ensure electrical systems and installations comply with safety standards to prevent hazards.
• Implement measures for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in designs.
7. Procurement Assistance:
• Assist in selecting materials, equipment, and vendors suitable for the project requirements.
• Review and approve technical submittals and shop drawings provided by vendors and contractors.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare as-built drawings, operation manuals, and technical reports.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, modifications, and approvals.
9. Budgeting and Scheduling:
• Estimate costs and prepare budgets for electrical components of the project.
• Develop and manage schedules to ensure timely completion of electrical engineering tasks.
