Job Summary:
The DEWA-Approved Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical systems in construction projects, ensuring compliance with DEWA regulations and local standards. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, conducting inspections, and providing technical support to ensure the successful completion of electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Planning: Develop detailed electrical system designs and plans for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems. Ensure designs meet DEWA standards and local codes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary approvals and permits from DEWA. Ensure all electrical work adheres to DEWA regulations, safety standards, and local building codes.
• Project Management: Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines. Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase, including troubleshooting issues and ensuring the correct implementation of electrical systems.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to verify compliance with design specifications and DEWA standards. Address and rectify any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records, including design documents, installation reports, compliance certificates, and inspection logs. Submit documentation to DEWA and other relevant authorities as required.
• Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices for electrical installations. Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordination: Liaise with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure that electrical systems integrate seamlessly with other building systems and project requirements.
• Updates and Training: Stay current with DEWA regulations, electrical standards, and emerging technologies. Provide training and updates to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
• DEWA Approval: Valid DEWA-approved Electrical Engineer certification.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of DEWA regulations and standards.
