Electrical Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry
The Electrical Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry is responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment used in oil and gas facilities. They ensure compliance with safety regulations, analyze electrical requirements, and develop project specifications. The Electrical Engineer also collaborates with other engineers and technicians to support the efficient and safe operation of oil and gas facilities.
Responsibilities
• Design electrical systems for oil and gas facilities, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Develop project specifications, including electrical load calculations and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Analyze electrical requirements and perform system calculations.
• Collaborate with other engineers to design integrated electrical and control systems.
• Review and approve electrical designs and drawings.
• Support the procurement and installation of electrical equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults and system failures.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify system performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical engineering in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and regulations in the industry.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of control systems and instrumentation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and practices in the industry.
• Professional certifications in electrical engineering are preferred.
