Electrical Engineer

Job Description

• Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, lighting control, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems.

• Develop electrical design calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit calculations, and coordination studies.

• Create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and panel schedules.

• Ensure compliance with ADDC regulations, local building codes, and international standards (such as IEC, NEC, etc.).

• Coordination with ADDC:

• Interface with ADDC for all project-related electrical approvals, service connections, and load requirements.

• Coordinate electrical designs and submissions with ADDC to ensure timely approvals and compliance.

• Prepare and submit requests for new electrical service connections to ADDC and follow up on approvals.

• Conduct site visits, inspections, and reviews of electrical work to ensure compliance with ADDC's standards.

• Design Documentation:

• Prepare and review design documentation, technical specifications, and project reports.

• Ensure that design drawings are accurate and up-to-date, including revisions.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the construction phase.

• Project Collaboration:

• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to integrate electrical design with overall project design.

• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., mechanical, plumbing, HVAC) to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.

• Assist in preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and procurement specifications.

• Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all electrical designs are compliant with the latest UAE regulations, ADDC requirements, and international standards.

• Stay updated on changes to ADDC regulations, electrical codes, and industry best practices.

• Support in obtaining all necessary permits and certifications for electrical systems.

Key Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 1-3 years of experience as an electrical designer, with a focus on ADDC projects in Abu Dhabi.

• Experience in designing electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

• In-depth knowledge of ADDC regulations and local requirements related to electrical systems.

• Experience in liaising with local utilities (ADDC) for design approvals, connections, and service provisions.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, DiaLux or AGi32 and other design software used in electrical design

• Familiarity with UAE regulations and international electrical standards (IEC, NEC, etc.).

• Full Time.
