PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Electrical Designer will be responsible for developing and preparing electrical designs and drawings for an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor specifically engaged in the engineering phase of upstream oil and gas projects. The role requires a detailed understanding of electrical systems, the ability to interpret engineering data, and proficiency in design software to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings, including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Prepare and review electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including process, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation engineers, to integrate electrical design into the overall project.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
• Provide technical support during the design phase, including troubleshooting and resolving design issues.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive electrical design documentation, including design basis, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Ensure all design changes are documented and approved in accordance with project procedures.
• Ensure designs adhere to relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Support the Lead Electrical Engineer in managing project deliverables and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available and willing to relocate in the UAE
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience working on EPC contracts and upstream oil and gas projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN).
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, standards, and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
