Principal Accountabilities:
Performs daily safety inspections and surveillances with little or no supervision.
Performs formal environmental and safety audits under the direction of the QESH Manager.
Provides oversight and regulatory support to the site for Spill investigations.
Provides oversight and technical support to the site for Mishap investigations.
Reviews audit reports from other sites for environmental and safety issues and identifies possible areas of non-conformance.
Provides technical support to the Site Safety Officer and Safety Committee.
Documents Safety Committee action items and tracks their progress and completion.
Promotes continual improvement by recommending safer techniques for worker tasks.
Monitors the use and storage of hazardous materials in the work place.
Monitors the generation, storage, and turn-in of regulated wastes.
Monitors and validates site compliance with EHS procedures and work instructions.
Reviews the site-specific EHS procedures to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Collects and reports monthly Safety and Environmental data
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
Must be able to understand American EHS technical jargon.
Working knowledge of US EHS regulations and standards.
Should be detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to continuously improve site EHS processes.
Ability to pass 40 Hour HAZWOPER upon hire.
Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
Experience & Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
30 Hour OSHA general industry course highly preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in an EHS discipline is desirable.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to
work outdoors for extended periods.
Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
