Requirements

• Master's Degree in Psychology to be licensed as an educational psychologist in Dubai
• Licensed with the CDA (Community Development Authority)
• A minimum of 2 years of proven pediatric experience with verifiable references
• Valid driver's license and access to a car
• Proficient in both written and spoken English
• Skilled in supporting children with learning difficulties or communication needs
• International candidates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities of the Role

As an educational psychologist, you'll need to -

• Assess children's learning and emotional needs.
• Design, develop and support therapeutic and behavior management programmes.
• Consult with multi-agency teams to advise on the best approaches and provisions to support learning and development.
• Support parents, teachers and others involved with the education of children and young people.
• Design and develop projects involving children and young people.
• Write reports making recommendations on action to be taken.
• Advise, persuade, support and negotiate with teachers, parents and other education professionals.
• Attend case conferences involving multidisciplinary teams on how best to meet the social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs of the children and young people in your care.
• Engage in monthly supervision.
• Formulate interventions that focus on applying knowledge, skills and expertise to support local and national initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the Able-Me services (Early intervention and learning program).
• Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' learning and emotional needs.
• Provide counseling and intervention services to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop individualized support plans.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance students' learning and well-being. Conduct classroom observations and provide recommendations for classroom management.
• Support the identification and intervention for students with special educational needs.
• Provide training and guidance to teachers and staff on psychological issues and strategies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss students' progress and interventions. Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions.
• Stay updated with research and best practices in educational psychology. Support the school in promoting positive mental health and well-being initiatives.
• Complete tasks assigned by your Line Manager as needed.
