You will join 4EI to become our Ecology and Environmental specialist. You will work on projects which examine land use and habitats, in order to provide clients with Habitat maps, Threats analysis reports and land restoration planning. You will advise colleagues and clients alike, examining and summarising complex data and imagery to then recommend and define new environmental policies. The successful candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of Earth Observation/Remote Sensing specialists and developers, so previous use of satellite imagery or other remote sensing data would be useful. Please expand on any such past exposure in your application. Key responsibilities. Identify and assess degraded and threatened habitats using available spatial and non-spatial data and using different open source tools from the UN or Environmental Community. Develop and implement habitat restoration plans that are tailored to Middle Eastern ecological contexts and based on international best practices. Technically lead projects focused on the restoration of native flora and species, including overseeing seed collection, propagation, and planting efforts with timelines etc through geospatial analysis (GIS). Work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and non-governmental organizations, to ensure the successful implementation of restoration projects. Conduct ecological monitoring and reporting on project progress and outcomes. Have adequate experience in writing detailed reports and policy documents for governmental agencies Contribute to ecology/environmental parts of proposal documents. Contribute to the scientific community through research, presentations, and publications.
