Job Description

Accountabilities:
1. Data Strategy and Management:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization\'s goals and objectives.
  • Define data governance policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Establish data quality standards and implement procedures for data cleansing and enrichment.
  • Manage the acquisition, integration, and storage of large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
2. Big Data Analytics:
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable big data analytics solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
  • Identify and assess relevant data sources, both internal and external, to extract valuable insights.
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling and machine learning, to uncover patterns and trends within the data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
3. Team Leadership:
  • Build and lead a high-performing data and analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, ensuring the team\'s success in delivering on key projects and objectives.
4. Stakeholder Management:
  • Partner with senior executives and department leaders to understand their data and analytics needs.
  • Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, enabling informed decision-making.
5. Technology Evaluation and Implementation:
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in big data technologies, analytics tools, and data management practices.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms to support data analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the successful implementation and integration of data-related systems.
6. Problem Solving & Analytical thinking:
  • The role holder will identify and resolve problems pertaining to day-to-day issues, such as obtaining sufficient resource support from other departments and compelling senior management to make decisions in a timely fashion,
  • Utilize technical skills for data analysis and optimization: The expert leverages their technical skills in various analytics techniques such as data management, machine learning, predictive modelling, time-series forecasting, and optimization.
  • These skills enable them to analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and optimize strategies for maximum impact and business success.
Qualifications, experience, skills and competencies
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics).
Experience:
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in leading data and analytics functions, preferably in a big data environment.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases) and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Proficient in advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are a requirement.
  • Excels at delivering results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus.
