Key Responsibility Areas \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for driving heavy truck to transport and deliver cargo \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for maintaining radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location. \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for witnessing the loading and unloading of cargo in his truck and ensuring that they are in good condition \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for ensuring that the number of pallets tally with customer shipping documents. \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for positioning blocks and tying ropes around items to secure cargo for transport. \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for ensuring that only accurate POD\xe2\x80\x99s are signed by the customer and the driver. \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for keeping vehicle clean, checking the condition of vehicles tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for reporting any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs. \xc2\xb7 Responsible and accountable for complying with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. \xc2\xb7 Maintains knowledge of first-aid procedures. \xc2\xb7 Prepares and submits reports that may include the number trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for reporting delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
