Job Description

We are seeking a versatile Draughtsman & Estimator to join our team. This combined role involves creating detailed technical drawings and preparing cost estimates for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure designs align with specifications and budgets while contributing to project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Draughtsman Responsibilities

• Develop precise architectural, structural, and MEP drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings as per project requirements.
• Modify and update drawings based on project revisions and site conditions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure drawings meet project specifications.
• Maintain organized archives of all project-related drawings and documents.
• Ensure compliance with local standards and regulations in all designs.

Estimator Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates from project drawings and specifications.
• Analyze project requirements and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source material pricing and vendor quotes.
• Review contractor and subcontractor invoices to ensure accuracy and prevent overbilling.
• Monitor project budgets and prepare cost forecasts and reports for management.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize designs while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Track material usage and minimize wastage during the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in drafting and estimation within construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and cost estimation software like CCS Candy or Excel.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP designs.
• Knowledge of construction materials, costs, and local UAE market rates.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with UAE construction standards and FIDIC contracts.
• Experience in value engineering and cost optimization.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
