A Piling Draughtsman is responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and layouts for piling and foundation projects. This role supports engineers and project teams by translating design concepts into precise, scalable drawings that guide piling installation on construction sites. The Piling Draughtsman ensures that all drawings adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations to enable the successful and accurate execution of piling works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drawings and Detailing:
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, including layouts and sections, for piling systems such as driven piles, bored piles, CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) piles, and sheet piling.
• Convert engineer's designs and geotechnical data into accurate, to-scale drawings for use in both planning and construction phases.
• Develop reinforcement detailing for piles and pile caps, ensuring compliance with structural and safety requirements.
• Coordination with Engineering and Project Teams:
• Collaborate with structural and geotechnical engineers to ensure that drawings align with the project's design criteria and engineering specifications.
• Modify designs based on feedback from engineers or project managers and update drawings as required.
• Support project teams by providing clarification or adjustments to drawings when on-site issues or changes arise.
• Quality Control and Accuracy:
• Ensure that all drawings meet the required technical specifications and standards of accuracy, ensuring clarity for construction crews.
• Conduct self-reviews and coordinate peer reviews to verify that dimensions, calculations, and detailing are correct.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations in all drawings.
• Site Support and Communication:
• Provide technical support to on-site personnel regarding drawing interpretations and detailing issues.
• Update drawings based on site conditions and feedback from site teams during construction phases.
• Assist in the production of as-built drawings post-project completion, incorporating any changes made during the construction process.
• CAD Software Use:
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other drafting software to create 2D and 3D representations of piling and foundation systems.
• Maintain proficiency in relevant CAD software and stay updated on the latest drafting technologies and tools.
• Manage and maintain drawing files and ensure that all designs are backed up and properly organized for easy access.
• Material and Structural Detailing:
• Develop detailed reinforcement and material drawings, including bar bending schedules for pile reinforcement and foundation elements.
• Prepare detailed section views to clarify pile installation, embedment depths, and connections with other structural elements.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Maintain records of all drawing revisions, ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to the project scope, construction methodologies, and safety guidelines.
• Provide documentation for design approvals and maintain drawings in a structured manner for future reference.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the required technical information is conveyed accurately through drawings.
• Communicate design changes, drawing updates, and revisions to project teams and contractors.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Drafting Technology.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in drafting, preferably within piling, foundation, or geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting software.
• Knowledge of piling techniques, foundation systems, and structural detailing.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety standards related to piling and foundation works.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
