Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Draftsman (Mechanical HVAC) with 5-10 years of experience working in interior fit-out contracting or construction companies in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be proficient in drafting and preparing HVAC systems designs and mechanical drawings for large-scale projects, including commercial , residential , and industrial developments. The role requires strong expertise in AutoCAD , Revit , and other design software, as well as a solid understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems, codes, and industry standards.

The Draftsman (Mechanical HVAC) will work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure the accurate and efficient drafting of mechanical HVAC designs that meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting & Design:
• Prepare detailed HVAC system drawings , including ductwork , piping layouts , air handling units (AHUs) , fan coil units (FCUs) , and other mechanical equipment.
• Create mechanical drawings for HVAC installations , ensuring all system components are clearly defined and dimensioned.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers to convert design concepts into working drawings and ensure accuracy in construction drawings and shop drawings .
• Develop 3D models of HVAC systems using design software such as Revit to assist in the visualization of the project.
• Review and update drawings as per client feedback, site conditions, and project requirements.
• Coordination & Collaboration:
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as electrical , plumbing , and civil engineering to ensure designs are integrated properly and free of conflicts.
• Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure designs are implemented accurately during the construction phase.
• Participate in regular project meetings to discuss any design modifications or technical challenges and offer solutions.
• Site Supervision & Inspection:
• Conduct site visits to gather required information for drawings and to ensure that the HVAC systems are installed as per the design specifications.
• Review construction progress against drawings and ensure that there are no deviations from the approved mechanical designs.
• Address any site-related issues that arise concerning the HVAC design or mechanical installations and provide updated drawings if necessary.
• Code Compliance & Standards:
• Ensure that all HVAC designs adhere to local regulations , building codes , and international standards .
• Stay updated with changes in UAE construction codes related to HVAC systems and other mechanical engineering requirements.
• Provide support in obtaining necessary approvals from local authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive drawing records, ensuring all revisions and modifications are properly documented.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings for project handover to the client.
• Ensure that drawings are submitted in a timely manner to avoid delays in the construction schedule.
• Quality Control:
• Perform regular checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality control.
• Verify the proper use of symbols, notation, and linework in line with company standards and industry practices.
• Software & Tools:
• Utilize AutoCAD , Revit , Navisworks , and other drafting software to produce detailed mechanical HVAC drawings.
• Stay current with the latest updates in drafting and design software to improve drawing quality and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience:
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience as a Draftsman (Mechanical HVAC) in interior fit-out contracting , construction , or HVAC companies in the UAE.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems design including air conditioning , ventilation , and heating systems, as well as the ability to produce shop drawings and as-built drawings .
• Education & Certifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Building Services , or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in HVAC design or AutoCAD (e.g., Revit certification , AutoCAD certification).
• Skills & Expertise:
• Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical HVAC systems drafting.
• Good knowledge of HVAC design principles , codes , and standards (e.g., ASHRAE , SMACNA ).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings , specifications , and construction documents .
• Experience in producing 3D models and BIM models for HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of ductwork layout , piping systems , and HVAC equipment .
• Familiarity with HVAC system sizing calculations , equipment specifications, and integration with building systems.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in drawing production.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations related to building services and HVAC systems .
• Language Skills:
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• Other Requirements:
• Valid UAE driving license (required for site visits and coordination with various stakeholders).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
