Job Description

Creating Technical Drawings

• Prepare Detailed Drawings: Produce detailed technical drawings and plans based on rough sketches, specifications, and calculations provided by architects and engineers.
• Use CAD Software: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings.
• Generate Blueprints: Create blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for use in construction and manufacturing.

2. Collaboration and Communication

• Work with Design Teams: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to understand project requirements and incorporate their input into the drawings.
• Communicate Changes: Communicate any changes or revisions to the design team and update drawings accordingly.

3. Reviewing and Modifying Plans

• Revise Drawings: Make revisions to drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, and clients.
• Ensure Accuracy: Ensure that all drawings are accurate, clear, and detailed to prevent errors during construction or manufacturing.

4. Adhering to Standards and Codes

• Follow Standards: Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations when creating drawings.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and other regulations.

5. Site Visits and Measurements

• Conduct Site Visits: Visit construction sites to take measurements, gather data, and observe conditions that may affect the drawings.
• Verify Dimensions: Verify dimensions and other information on-site to ensure accuracy in the drawings.

6. Document Management

• Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Organize Files: Organize and maintain a library of all project drawings and related documents for easy retrieval.

7. Assisting with Project Planning

• Support Planning: Assist architects and engineers in planning projects by providing detailed drawings and plans.
• Provide Technical Input: Offer technical input on design feasibility and potential issues.

• Check for Errors: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
