Purpose of Role

Responsible for producing Mechanical drawings particularly related to plumbing and piping systems. Prepare working drawings, shop drawings, plans, charts, and graphs as directed by the Team Leader.

Responsibilities / Tasks

1. Receive guidelines and instructions from Team Leader to draft working diagrams, preliminary designs, shop drawings, and other structural diagrams as required.
2. Extract the necessary information from documents for the preparation of detailed drawings.
3. Draft and prepare preliminary designs, produce/modify shop drawings and carry out other related activities.
4. Perform drafting assignments by applying standardized drawing techniques. Develop, modify and/or review drawings according to established standards.
5. Study detail of each item, sometimes referring to several individual drawings, to ensure that the relevant information is consistent and thorough.
6. Ensure that all drawings are updated and that they incorporate changes as directed.
7. Coordinate and work in conjunction with other workers to design, layout or detail components and systems related to mechanical drawings as per contract and tender specifications.
8. Operate and/or maintain computer assisted software (AutoCAD, etc.) and tools to draft engineering reports.
9. Maintain documents and other technical reports and provide updates to Engineers regarding status of work.

Experience:
