Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Shop Drawings & Production Drawings:
• Create detailed shop and production drawings for metal fabrication based on project requirements.
• Ensure that all drawings are accurate, well-dimensioned, and meet client specifications and industry standards.
• Revisions & Updates:
• Revise and update drawings as required, based on feedback from Sales Engineers, Clients, and Production Teams.
• Ensure that any design changes are accurately reflected in the updated drawings.
• Manufacturing Support:
• Prepare drawings to facilitate assembly, installation, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Production Teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
• Machine Operation:
• Operate CNC machines to cut, drill, and shape metal components based on design specifications.
• Set up and operate laser cutting machines to produce precise and clean cuts for metal parts.
• Operate metal cutting and bending machines to fabricate and shape parts as per the drawings.
• Precision & Quality Control:
• Ensure all designs and machine operations adhere to the highest quality standards.
• Conduct inspections of manufactured parts to ensure they meet the drawing specifications and quality expectations.
• Troubleshoot design or machine-related issues during production, providing technical support to resolve discrepancies.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations and best practices for metal fabrication.
• Verify that all operations, including machine settings and parts fabrication, are executed in line with safety standards.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies between design and fabrication.
• Provide technical support to resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
• Software Proficiency:
• Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar for 2D design and drafting.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and software to operate CNC, laser, and metal cutting machines.
• Experience with CAM software to integrate machine operations with design files.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in metal fabrication design, including using CAD software for shop drawings and production planning.
• Hands-on experience with CNC, laser cutting, and metal bending machines.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and quality standards.
• Knowledge of safety standards in metal fabrication.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
