Job Description

1. Creating Technical Drawings

Prepare detailed technical drawings: Using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software or traditional drafting methods, draftsmen create plans for buildings, machinery, or products, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.

Create blueprints: Draftsmen often produce detailed blueprints that provide visual instructions for construction or manufacturing processes.

2. Interpret Specifications and Designs

Understand and interpret design requirements: Draftsmen work closely with engineers, architects, and designers to understand the concepts and requirements for each project.

Ensure accuracy: They ensure that all technical drawings are precise, clearly labeled, and comply with safety standards.

3. Revise and Update Drawings

Update drawings as needed: When changes occur during the design or construction process, draftsmen revise and update the original drawings to reflect the modifications.

Incorporate feedback: They adjust their drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, or other stakeholders to meet project goals and standards.

4. Assist in Project Planning

Collaborate with project teams: Draftsmen often work with architects, engineers, and construction managers to create designs that align with project goals.

Assist with project scheduling: They help ensure that designs are completed within the project timeline, making necessary adjustments to accommodate changes.

5. Material and Component Specification

Specify materials and components: Draftsmen often indicate the types of materials to be used in a project and provide specifications for components based on project requirements.

6. Maintain Drawing Records
