Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

• Health Assessments : Conduct screenings (vision, hearing, BMI) and assess students for illness or injury.
• First Aid and Emergency Care : Provide immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses that occur during school hours.
• Medication Administration : Dispense and manage student medications according to school policies and doctor instructions.
• Health Counseling : Educate students on health-related issues (nutrition, hygiene, physical activity) and provide advice on managing chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes).
• Health Record Maintenance : Keep up-to-date health records for all students, including immunization records and health histories.
• Illness Prevention : Implement strategies to reduce the spread of contagious diseases and inform families and staff of necessary health precautions.
• Collaboration : Work with teachers, counselors, and parents to support students with special health needs and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Health Education Programs : Help develop health-related school programs and educate the school community on health and wellness.

Required Qualifications :

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certification in school nursing (in some states/countries).
• Knowledge of child development and pediatric care.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

School nurses are essential for ensuring students' health, safety, and ability to learn in the school environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month

Experience:

• nursing: 2 years (Required)
• School Nurse: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Evaluation letter or DOH License (Required)
