Job Description

We are seeking dedicated DOH-licensed Assistant/Practical Nurses and Midwives to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidates will provide essential support to patients in both general care and maternity settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a caring attitude, attention to detail, and an ability to follow care plans and collaborate effectively with registered nurses, midwives, and doctors.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care Support
• Assist patients with daily needs, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., temperature, blood pressure, pulse) and report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Aid in the preparation and delivery of medications, under supervision, according to protocol.
• Support patients and families by addressing questions and providing comfort measures.
• Maternity and Newborn Care
• Assist in prenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal care under the supervision of a registered nurse or midwife.
• Provide hands-on assistance with newborn care, including bathing, feeding, and vital monitoring.
• Support new mothers with breastfeeding and newborn care education as directed by senior nursing or midwifery staff.
• Collaborative Patient Care
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining clear communication and coordination with registered nurses, midwives, and doctors to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare and assist in the setup of medical equipment and exam rooms for patient visits and procedures.
• Participate in patient handoffs and shift reports to keep incoming staff informed of patient status.
• Compliance and Documentation
• Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care provided and patient responses as required by DOH regulations and facility policies.
• Follow all infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
• Stay updated on DOH guidelines and participate in required trainings and certifications.
• Patient and Family Education
• Provide basic education to patients and families regarding home care, health maintenance, and follow-up appointments.
• Offer guidance on preventive health measures, nutrition, and infant care as directed by licensed nursing and midwifery staff.
• Emergency Response
• Respond promptly and effectively to patient emergencies, providing first-aid support and alerting the registered nurse or doctor.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and keep up-to-date on emergency protocols.

Qualifications

• Licensure : Valid DOH License
• Education : Diploma in Practical Nursing or Midwifery from an accredited institution
• Experience : Minimum 3 years UAE experience
• Skills : Strong communication, empathy, teamwork, and organizational skills

• Knowledge of infection control, hygiene, and basic nursing/midwifery practices
