Job Description

This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining all laboratory documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The role involves organizing, updating, and controlling technical reports, test results, quality records, and other relevant documents in a systematic manner to support the efficient operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:



Document Management:



Maintain and control all laboratory documents, including test reports, quality records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and calibration records. Ensure proper filing, retrieval, and archiving of documents in physical and digital formats. Implement and maintain document control procedures in line with ISO 17025 and other relevant accreditation standards. Track document revisions and ensure only the latest versions are in circulation.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:



Ensure all documents meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, including those set by the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) and ISO standards. Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with laboratory quality management systems. Coordinate with quality management teams to update procedures and maintain records of quality control checks.

Coordination & Communication:



Liaise with laboratory technicians, engineers, and clients to manage document requests and submissions. Assist in the preparation and distribution of test reports, certificates, and other technical documents. Ensure that document control processes are communicated and followed by all staff members.

System & Database Management:



Maintain and update the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or any document control software used by the laboratory. Ensure proper backup and security of all electronic documents.

Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Quality Management, or Engineering). Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Document Controller, preferably in a construction material testing laboratory or a related industry. Knowledge of ISO 17025 and laboratory quality management systems. Proficiency in document control software, MS Office Suite, and database management. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

Preferred Skills:



Familiarity with laboratory test procedures for construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.). Experience with LIMS or other laboratory management software. Knowledge of UAE regulatory requirements related to construction materials testing.
