:IRIS Executives, leader in Emiratization and Executive Search, is urgently looking for a Director Strategy Management, for one of its largest clients in Dubai.Job Title: Director Strategy Management (UAE National)Job Location: Dubai or Abu DhabiRemuneration: CompetitiveRole Summary:The Director Strategy Management is responsible for leading the development, refinement, and execution of the companys institution-wide strategy in alignment with national objectives and global best practices. This role ensures effective performance management by designing strategic frameworks, conducting in-depth research, and analyzing organizational challenges to ensure the companys goals are met. Additionally, the director oversees risk management policies and frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating potential risks to operations.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:
Spearhead the formulation and continuous enhancement of the companys long-term strategic vision.
Develop the departments strategy to align with the companys broader institutional goals.
Establish and refine strategy and future-focused policies, procedures, and processes.
Oversee the departments annual budget in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with financial planning.
Strategy Development & Execution:
Define the companys strategic direction and conduct periodic evaluations to refine its approach.
Lead external and internal market analysis, scenario planning, and strategy workshops, guiding leadership in effective decision-making.
Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to assess the companys position within the broader educational landscape and address institutional challenges.
Prioritize, assess, and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring they align with the companys long-term objectives.
Support functional teams in developing strategies that integrate seamlessly with the companys overarching goals.
Assign strategic initiatives to relevant teams, setting clear deliverables, timelines, and resource allocations.
Establish and oversee institutional performance tracking mechanisms, ensuring continuous alignment with the companys strategy.
Performance & Risk Management:
Implement a robust institutional performance framework, incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs) and regular reporting mechanisms.
Align strategy execution with other institutional planning processes, such as budget allocation and workforce planning.
Provide support to teams and campuses in translating high-level strategy into actionable local plans.
Regularly report strategic progress and institutional performance updates to leadership.
Oversee risk management by developing enterprise-wide frameworks, ensuring mitigation measures are in place for operational and financial risks.
Identify institutional risks, monitor emerging issues, and oversee mitigation efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance:
Act as a key liaison with government bodies, regulators, and institutional partners.
Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and vendors to support strategic initiatives, organizational changes, and institutional reforms.
Ensure smooth communication and alignment between academic and administrative teams regarding strategic objectives.
Oversee external partnerships, collaborations, and benchmarking studies to align the companys approach with leading global practices.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing strategy management team.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team capabilities.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the department.
Identify and implement tailored development plans for employees to support career growth.
Support the recruitment and professional development of UAE Nationals within the organization.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in strategy development, implementation, and performance management.
Working now for a federal government.
At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Proven ability to deliver performance reports to federal government entities.
Advanced knowledge of performance management systems and KPIs.
Proficiency in strategic frameworks and tools (e.g., Balanced Scorecard, KPIs, SWOT).
Professional certifications in strategy or performance management, such as Balanced Scorecard Professional (BSP), Strategy Management Professional (SMP), or equivalent, are preferred.
