Our q-commerce concept, talabat mart (121 Stores), now delivers groceries to customers in Bahrain, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE in 30 minutes or less!talabat is part of the Delivery Hero Group, the world\'s leading local delivery platform operating in 70+ countries worldwideWhat\'s On Your Plate?Reporting to the Senior Director of Regional Logistics (who reports to the COO), this position will:Have direct exposure to the C-level members, including but not limited to, the COO, VP Comms, Public Affairs & Public Relations, as well as VP Legal, Governance & ComplianceManage four key Logistics functions - Fleet Partnership Management, Rider Supply & Operations, Rider Affairs and Dispatching (Rider Service), with a direct team of 30 and 1,100 indirect mix of in-house and outsourced agents.Lead numerous Centres of Excellence functions to drive regional standardisation and operational excellence in line with DH and talabat\'s blueprint; crystallises best practice to share across the region.Relentlessly strive to improve Dispatching / Contact Centre / Local Logistics SOPs in favour of rider experience, earnings & efficiencyContribute meaningfully to negotiations of regional fleet partner commercials, rider fee model revisions, partnership deals for riders and fleet partners, dispatching BPO rates & commercial structure, as well as rider kit procurementDemonstrate a strong desire to connect and understand the challenges on-ground with riders, fleet partners and local teams and consistently be the voice of the riders and fleet partners within talabat (and outside) through frequent market visitsCommunicate effectively with C-levels, coaches Regional and Local Logistics leadership to sharpen their communications/storytelling to drive meaningful outcomes to talabat and our stakeholdersBreak down complex operational problems into multiple manageable workstreams and govern progress accordingly, while adequately updating and influencing senior and key stakeholders in a matrix organisational structureSupport and co-lead local teams in ad-hoc crisis management with other regional stakeholders e.g. Public Affairs and LegalQualificationsWhat Did We Order?NOTE: Before applying, please review the prerequisites listed below. Due to the seniority and scope of the position, the following specific skill set is needed:MUST HAVE:At least 8 years of experience, combining 2-3 years each in consulting (or in-house strategy) as well as 2-3 years within Operations in a relevant/fast paced industryIdeal candidate could either i) be a senior position running a central/regional team with previous consulting experience OR ii) be an Engagement Manager / Case Team Leader at a top-tier consulting firm presently, with hands on experience priorGreat team management skills as the role would manage the largest and most diverse team in Regional LogisticsDemonstrated aptitude to grasp new concepts and functional expertise quickly, and drive quick wins, as well as sustainable impactStructured problem solving skills, and ability to go high-level and visionary with C-level and deep into the detail with members of the teamDynamic ways of working - ability to reprioritise on the go while managing sustainability and action plans for the teamExcellent communication skills and proficiency in English (verbal, written, and presentation-making skills)Experience in the last-mile or gig-economy industry and / or Middle Eastern working experienceGOOD TO HAVE:Hands on experience in leading an Operations function within a local marketProficiency in Arabic
