Are you a seasoned legal professional with expertise in currency operations? We are looking for an experienced Director of Legal Currency Operations to lead our client\xe2\x80\x99s team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is pivotal in overseeing legal compliance and operational matters related to traditional fiat currencies within the organisation. As the Director of Legal Currency Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) requirements. You will stay abreast of changes in legislation and regulations affecting legal currency operations in the crypto industry, overseeing the day-to-day legal currency operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to address operational challenges and enhance workflows. Your role as the regulatory liaison involves serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and agencies related to legal currency operations. You will coordinate and manage regulatory examinations and inquiries, develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in legal currency operations, and provide guidance on adherence to internal policies. Risk management is a crucial aspect of your role, where you will identify and assess legal and operational risks associated with legal currency activities and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls. Collaborating with the legal team is essential to ensure alignment between legal currency operations and overall legal strategies, providing legal insights on currency-related matters. You will prepare and present regular reports on legal currency operations, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Conducting training sessions for relevant teams to enhance awareness of legal compliance requirements is also a part of your role, promoting a culture of compliance and ethics within the department. Additionally, overseeing relationships with vendors and partners involved in legal currency operations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements is vital. Qualifications for this role include having over 8 years of experience in legal roles, with a focus on financial services or currency operations. You should possess in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations related to fiat currency operations, AML, and KYC, along with a strong understanding of the crypto industry and its legal landscape. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as proven leadership experience in legal and operational roles and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Compensation will include salary USD 130,000 \xe2\x80\x93 USD 150,000, plus bonus, pension, medical and a full relocation package.
