Kerzner\'s global insurance program is complex; covering multiple lines, geographies, classes and providers. Reporting to the VP, Asset Management, the Director, Insurance assists in achieving Kerzner\'s objective of providing owned and managed resorts with access to robust and cost-effective insurance solutions.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the relationship with Kerzner\'s insurance advisors
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in insurance, and make recommendations for improvements to the structure of the global insurance program and to individual placements
Describe Kerzner\'s business and its risk management strategies to senior insurance professionals with appropriate gravitas and executive presence to earn respect within the insurance community
Oversee the negotiation of insurance contracts with insurance providers
Assist Resorts and Kerzner entities in contracting with vendors on terms that protect Kerzner\'s Insurers by thoroughly reviewing draft contracts to ascertain associated risks and recommend suitable insurance coverages and limits
Build and maintain relationships with Resort Management, ensuring that their insurance needs are met
Confidently engage with Finance Directors and General Managers
Collaborate with Resorts and Kerzner entities to identify and assess risks associated with new services and initiatives and identify insurance products to respond
Oversee the management of claims, ensuring that they are processed in an effective and timely manner
Ensure that all insurance-related documentation is accurate and complete
Manage the significant overall insurance spend, billing and payment process
Represent Kerzner in discussions with Owners
Manage the addition of new Resorts into the program
Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements:
An undergraduate or graduate degree
Chartered status with the Chartered Insurance Institute, or equivalent is considered an asset
8 to 10 years of experience in insurance, with a proven track record of success in a management role
Demonstrated ability to identify risk and embed pragmatic mitigation strategies
Understanding of risk management principles and practices
Strong technical knowledge of insurance policies, as well as relevant regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and insurance providers at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues in a timely and effective manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Accomplished in the use of in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
