:IRIS Executives, leader in Emiratization and Executive Search, is urgently looking for:Job Title: Director Employability and Industry EngagementJob Location: Abu DhabiRemuneration: CompetitiveRole Overview:The Director of Employability & Industry Engagement is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that enhance graduate employability and strengthen industry partnerships. This position involves developing initiatives that equip students with critical career skills, facilitate experiential learning opportunities, and provide comprehensive career services. A key focus of this role is ensuring seamless integration between academic programs and workforce expectations to improve graduate outcomes. Additionally, the Director will lead industry engagement efforts, overseeing implementation plans and evaluating their impact to drive continuous improvement. The role requires close collaboration with Campus Executive Directors, Deans of Operations, and Employability Hub Managers to ensure effective communication and execution of employability initiatives across the institution.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
  • Define and implement a vision and strategy for Employability Hubs that aligns with broader institutional goals.
  • Direct the development of services, programs, and operational systems within the Employability Hubs.
  • Translate overarching institutional objectives into targeted employability strategies.
  • Lead departmental strategic planning, ensuring alignment with the organizations long-term goals.
  • Oversee the formulation and execution of policies, procedures, and initiatives to support employability efforts.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and optimize the departments annual budget.
Operational Management
  • Develop and implement the employability operational roadmap for the department.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of annual employability plans and activity calendars.
  • Ensure a standardized and high-quality approach to delivering core employability content across all campuses.
  • Supervise placement processes and outcomes, ensuring consistency and ongoing enhancements across the institution.
  • Lead the strategic management of Employability Hubs, defining services and continuously refining placement and advising programs.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for Employability Hubs and implement improvement strategies where needed.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to create internship, job placement, and project collaboration opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison with the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization to support initiatives related to private-sector employment and sponsorship.
  • Organize and oversee employer appreciation events and industry engagement activities.
  • Develop innovative campus engagement strategies to strengthen employer relationships and improve graduate career outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and direction for Employability Hub Managers in coordination with Campus Leads.
  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of technology platforms that support employability services, including CRM systems, career management tools, and assessment platforms.
  • Continuously monitor and refine the student employability journey to optimize career readiness.
  • Regularly report on progress and insights to senior leadership, including the Vice President of Employability & Knowledge Economy.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure employability initiatives align with academic and administrative priorities.
  • Plan and manage career fairs, employer networking events, and industry panels to connect students with job opportunities.
  • Track graduate employment outcomes, using data to refine and improve employability programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the employability team, ensuring smooth execution of departmental activities.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership to support evolving business needs.
People & Talent Development
  • Ensure staff objectives align with institutional goals and strategic priorities.
  • Lead, mentor, and assess the performance of the central employability team, conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Support professional development initiatives for employability staff, including training workshops, mentorship programs, and certification opportunities.
  • Identify high-potential talent and create targeted development plans to enhance their skills.
  • Empower team members by encouraging initiative and accountability in their roles.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees to enhance their performance and effectiveness.
  • Actively contribute to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Total 10 to 15 years of experience of which minimum of 5 years of experience in career development, student employability, or work placement services, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth understanding of higher education policies and leadership frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
