What the role entails
The Digital Account Director is responsible for overseeing a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional digital marketing services. This role involves managing both client servicing and performance aspects to ensure that digital campaigns are executed efficiently and effectively. The Digital Account Director will lead a team including Senior Account Managers and Performance Managers, as well as oversee indirect line executives to drive success in client accounts and optimise campaign performance.
The Digital Account Director will be an integral part of the Digital Leadership Team, collaborating with the Head of Department (HOD) and Creative Director to plan and strategise objectives for the team and business development.
Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of client servicing and performance team.
• Provide strategic direction and support to Senior Account Managers and Performance Managers.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Conduct regular check-ins with account management/ performance team and provide actionable feedback to drive team growth and development.
Client Relationship Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Oversee the creation and presentation of digital marketing plans and reports.
• Address and resolve any client issues or concerns in a timely manner.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
• Develop and implement digital marketing strategies that align with client objectives and drive growth.
• Collaborate with clients to define goals, KPIs, and deliverables for digital campaigns.
• Ensure that digital campaigns are executed effectively and within budget.
Creative Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Creative Director and creative team to ensure that creative objectives align with client goals and campaign strategies.
• Provide input and feedback to the creative team to enhance campaign effectiveness.
• Ensure that all creative assets meet client expectations and are delivered on time.
Leadership Team Participation:
• Be an active member of the Digital Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department (HOD) and Creative Director to plan and strategise objectives for the team.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities and enhancing existing client relationships.
• Training and upskilling the team.
Performance Management:
• Oversee the performance management of digital campaigns and initiatives.
• Utilise data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations.
• Ensure that all performance metrics and KPIs are met or exceeded.
Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on campaign performance, ROI, and other key metrics.
• Ongoing consultation on how to grow client's business and ensure the best possible results for them, through analysis, insight and thought leadership.
Who you are
Ideally you will have:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing high-performing teams and delivering successful digital marketing campaigns.
• Exceptional client relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client partnerships.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, tools, and technologies.
• Well-versed in tools such as Sprout, Click Up, Adobe Suite, and quick to learn new technologies and platforms.
• ?Basic knowledge of performance marketing, including Google and social media advertising.
• ?Familiarity with key metrics and the ability to interpret them to assess overall campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions across digital efforts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Capacity to work independently.
• A good balance of creative flair and strong business acumen.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead various project teams to deliver services amidst competing priorities without compromising on quality, deadlines or accuracy.
• High levels of resilience and an ability to role model this to junior team members.
• Demonstrated professionalism including being punctual, well presented, responsive and reliable.
• A strong desire to learn and develop professionally and to help junior team members to grow in their careers.
