Job Description

Job Purpose:

Role of Die Design Engineer is to do a feasibility study of new profile inquiries received from sales, process new and backup die ordering and review and provide the feedback on designs received from die suppliers in coordination with die corrector.

Job responsibilities:

-Processing of New Profile Enquiry (NPE).

-Check feasibility of extrusion for all the customer enquired profiles considering press capacity, extrusion ratio, CCD vs wall thickness ratio etc.

-Compare and co relate the performance of the similar existing profiles and propose modification in the shape of the profile for better extrudability.

-Upload suitable press, number of cavity and die size in system (NPE module).

-Initiate die order based on the die cut approval received from the commercial department.

-Update details of die ordering in production management system.

-Review pending orders and trigger backup die ordering.

-Review die design received from the supplier.

-Incorporate die correction details and correction feedback using backup die ordering/ design review.

-Initiate design enhancement for top running profiles.

-Prepare 3D models and conduct full extrusion simulations using QForm Extrusion software.

-Create and modify 3D models of aluminum extrusion dies.

-Provide feedback to die suppliers in coordination with die correctors.
