Job responsibilities An Auto Diagnostic Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues in vehicle systems, ensuring that vehicles run efficiently and safely. This role involves using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical and electrical problems and implement effective repair. Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics and Repair:
o Utilize diagnostic equipment such as OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) scanners, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to detect faults in vehicle systems. o Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine performance, transmission, fuel system, ignition system, and other critical components. o Conduct road tests to identify and confirm vehicle issues
Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Inspect vehicles for wear and tear and recommend necessary maintenance or repairs.
Ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnostic findings and repair recommendations.
Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines for repair and maintenance services.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
Documentation and Reporting:
Keep detailed records of all diagnostic tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Complete work orders and submit reports as required by the service manager.
Ensure all paperwork is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and calibrate diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and stored properly.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines when using tools and equipment.
