PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobholders at this level lead teams involved with the development of discipline-specific engineering drawings. For small projects they will be designated as Designers, with sole responsibility for design work, whilst on larger projects they will assume responsibilities as Team Leaders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Reviews and checks the work of Draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to issuance of drawings for construction and bill of materials (BOM) for procurement.


- Studies scope of work & produces basic drawings.


- Undertakes pre-engineering site surveys


- Checks design & construction engineering drawings for offshore pipelines (alignment sheets, riser/spool drawings, etc.)


- Checks material take-offs, BOMs, contingency allowances for all pipeline components required to complete the project.


- Input for resolution of client engineering queries.


- Interdisciplinary co-ordination.


- Works closely with Engineers.


- Resolves Yard queries.


- Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.






Skills Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


- Higher national Certificate, or •equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting.


- 10 year's previous Designing/Drafting checking experience with at least several years as drafting team leader in offshore pipeline drafting activities.


- Supervisory potential.


- Good in working with others as Team player.


- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.


- Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) / 3D-modelling design operator.


- Rigorous checker.
