We are looking for an experienced Designer to lead the design and development of custom joinery projects that elevate educational spaces and create engaging environments for children. Responsibilities: 1. Design Concept Development: Utilize your expertise in designing for schools, playrooms, and nurseries to create innovative and functional design concepts that integrate custom joinery solutions seamlessly into the space. 2. Material Selection and Specification:Work with the joinery team to choose appropriate materials, finishes, and construction techniques that align with the design vision, durability requirements, and safety standards for child-friendly spaces. 3. Custom Furniture Design: Collaborate with joiners and craftsmen to develop detailed drawings and specifications for custom furniture pieces, storage solutions, and fixtures that enhance the functionality and aesthetics of educational environments. 4. Client Engagement:*Engage with clients, architects, and project stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints, and present design proposals that meet their expectations while showcasing the unique capabilities of our joinery company. 5. Manage a team of designers: coordinate with the designers team, check and coordinate their work. Requirements: - Extensive experience working in a joinery company, cabinet-making workshop, or custom furniture manufacturing environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating bespoke joinery solutions for schools, playrooms, or nurseries. - Proficiency in CAD software, joinery design tools, and industry-standard programs for producing detailed joinery drawings, specifications, and shop drawings. - Knowledge of joinery techniques, woodworking processes, and furniture assembly methods, with a keen eye for craftsmanship, proportion, and detail in custom joinery design. - Excellent communication skills, project management abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality joinery solutions that exceed client expectations.
