:Position Summary:The Design Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the design process and leading a team of designers, engineers, and draftsmen in the creation of innovative facade solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of facade systems, materials, and construction techniques. The Design Team Leader will ensure that all designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and project requirements, while fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the design team, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance skills and performance.
  • Assign tasks, set clear objectives, and ensure the team meets project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and share insights and best practices.
Design Development and Oversight
  • Oversee the design process from concept to detailed design, ensuring all designs are innovative, functional, and compliant with project requirements.
  • Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and provide technical expertise.
Project Management and Coordination
  • Develop and manage project design schedules, ensuring timely delivery of design documentation and solutions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, production teams, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of design and construction processes.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Technical Expertise and Innovation
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and materials in facade design and construction.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, promoting innovative design solutions and best practices.
  • Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to ensure design integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures to review and validate design calculations, details, and documentation.
  • Address any design-related issues or conflicts during construction, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and other project stakeholders.
  • Present design concepts, solutions, and progress to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, effectively communicating technical details and design intent.
  • Address client feedback and incorporate changes or improvements into the design process as needed.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of design processes, changes, and approvals.
  • Prepare and present design reports, presentations, and progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Maintain records of design iterations, decisions, and project milestones for future reference and compliance purposes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: A degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field. A masters degree or relevant certifications in facade design or construction management is a plus.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in facade design, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or senior design role. Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial projects, or complex facade systems is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling tools. Familiarity with structural analysis software and BIM (Building Information Modeling) systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team-building, and mentoring abilities. Experience in managing and developing design teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex design concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address design challenges creatively and effectively.
  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, ensuring precision and quality in all design documentation and project deliverables.
Tools and Software:
  • Design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp)
  • BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks)
  • Structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000)
