You will support students across our secondary school by providing the following -Equipment Maintenance and Repair:Ensuring that tools, machinery, and equipment used in D&T classrooms and workshops are properly maintained, serviced, and repaired as needed to ensure safety and functionality.Resource Management:
Ordering, organizing, and managing supplies, materials, and resources required for D&T projects and activities, including keeping inventory records and sourcing new materials as necessary.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensuring that all D&T activities adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines, including conducting risk assessments, maintaining safety equipment, and providing guidance to staff and students on safe working practices.
Technical Support:
Providing technical assistance and support to teachers and students during D&T lessons and projects, including demonstrating the proper use of equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.
Workshop Supervision:
Supervising students during practical D&T activities, ensuring they follow safety procedures and providing guidance on project work as needed.
Equipment Setup and Operation:
Setting up and preparing equipment and materials for D&T lessons and demonstrations, as well as assisting with the operation of machinery and tools during practical sessions.
Project Assistance:
Assisting teachers and students with D&T projects, including providing advice on design and construction techniques, helping to troubleshoot problems, and offering practical support as needed.
Maintenance of Workspaces:
Keeping D&T workshops, classrooms, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe, including tidying up after lessons and ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
Training and Development:
Staying up-to-date with developments in D&T equipment and techniques, as well as health and safety regulations, through training and professional development opportunities.
Collaboration:
Collaborating with teachers and departmental staff to support the delivery of the D&T curriculum and contribute to the overall success of the department.
Administrative Tasks:
Assisting with administrative duties related to the D&T department, such as maintaining records, preparing materials for lessons, and supporting departmental events and activities.
Communication:
Communicating effectively with teachers, students, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of D&T activities and to address any concerns or issues that arise.
