Job Description

The Deputy Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting the Aircraft Maintenance Manager in the efficient operation of the maintenance department. The role ensures that the fleet of the aviation training club complies with regulatory requirements, particularly those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). As a designated GCAA Post Holder, the Deputy Manager plays a critical role in maintaining airworthiness, safety, and compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Management:

• Plan, supervise, and oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for the fleet.
• Ensure maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with FAA and GCAA standards, as well as manufacturer guidelines.
• Minimize aircraft downtime and ensure optimal fleet availability to meet training schedules.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

• Act as the GCAA Post Holder , ensuring compliance with all GCAA regulatory requirements.
• Ensure maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

3. Safety and Quality Assurance:

• Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) to uphold safety standards across maintenance operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for maintenance issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee quality assurance programs, including internal audits and maintenance inspections.

4. Team Leadership:

• Supervise a team of aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to maintenance personnel.

5. Operational Coordination:

• Collaborate with the flight operations and training departments to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of tools and equipment.
• Assist in budget planning and resource allocation for the maintenance department.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering

Licenses and Certifications:

• Holds a valid FAA Aircraft Maintenance License .
• Approved to serve as a Post Holder under GCAA regulations (or meets eligibility requirements).

Experience:

• At least 7-10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Familiarity with training clubs, light aircraft, or flight schools is highly desirable.

Technical Proficiency:

• Comprehensive knowledge of FAA and GCAA maintenance regulations and procedures.
• Proficiency in using maintenance tracking systems and software.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across various aircraft systems.

Soft Skills:

• Leadership abilities with a focus on team development and collaboration.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive and safety-oriented mindset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: From AED8,500.00 per month

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Aircraft Maintenance: 7 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Aircraft Maintenance License(FAA). (Preferred)
