Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support our dentists and hygienists with patient care, ensuring a high standard of service and adherence to Department of Health (DOH) policies. You will be responsible for preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, and providing patient education. Your role is vital in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient dental environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Support:
• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative and surgical procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to DOH guidelines.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Ensure the patient is comfortable and prepared for treatment.
• Pass instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures.
• Help in the placement of dental dams, matrix bands, and other devices.
• Patient Care:
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care.
• Assist with the management of dental emergencies.
• Administrative Duties:
• Record treatment information in patient charts.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records, ensuring compliance with DOH policies.
• Order and maintain dental supplies and ensure they are within expiration dates.
• Follow infection control procedures and ensure the dental office adheres to all DOH regulations.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere strictly to all DOH policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
• Participate in regular training and continuing education to stay updated on DOH policies and best practices.
• Conduct regular checks on sterilization equipment and ensure proper documentation of processes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of an accredited dental assisting program; certification as a Dental Assistant is preferred/ registered nurse with saudi or UAE dental experience
• Experience: Previous experience in a dental office is desirable.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in dental software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and materials.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of DOH regulations and best practices for infection control.
