This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Transcription Duties: - Listen to voice recordings made by healthcare professionals and transcribe them into medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative material. - Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting. - Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms. - Ensure all transcription is completed promptly and accurately, adhering to guidelines and turnaround times. Quality Assurance: - Proofread and edit transcriptions for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy. - Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness. - Correct any discrepancies or errors in the transcriptions. Administrative Duties: - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. - Organize and manage transcription files and records. - Follow up with healthcare professionals for any clarification on dictated material. - Assist with updating and maintaining medical transcription templates and reference materials.
