Make sure staff are following the proper recipe and technique.
Assist in determining appropriate quantity of food items for baking according to the order and extend recipes as needed.
Maintain food quality standards including appearance and nutritional requirements.
Monitor temperature of foods to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitors water temperatures to assure proper temperature for breads.
Bake products according to time and temperature guidelines.
Record amounts of food produced as assigned; assist with inventory and maintain routine records as directed; prepares records of foods cooked and foods leftover.
Check whether staff are following appropriate sanitation and hygiene.
Make sure equipment, appliances and stored food supplies are clean; ensure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
Store unused food and supplies; dispose of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling food while being stored.
Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behavior.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
Guide and motivate bakery assistants to work more efficiently.
